Claude Diallo, St. Galler Jazzpianist, Komponist und Arrangeur, wohnhaft in Trogen, in der Jazz-Hochburg Berklee College of Music in Boston studiert und in New York über 10 Jahre gelebt zwischendurch einige Jahre in Asien, international ausgezeichnet, hat das Piano Trio 2007 gegründet.
Luques Curtis, Kontrabassist und Komponist, geboren in Connecticut USA wurde vielfach für den Grammy nominiert, gewann er den Grammy mit Eddie Palmieri und Brian Lynch. Das amerikanische DOWNBEAT Magazine hat ihn mehrfach ausgezeichnet. Luques Curtis spielt derzeit in den Bands von Eddie Palmieri, Gretchen Parlato und mit seinem Bruder Zaccai Curtis als Curtis Brothers.
Tupac Mantilla, Percussionist und Schlagzeuger, geboren in Kolumbien, weltweit ausgezeichnet, Begründer des Global Percussion Network „PERCUACTION“, erreicht mit seinen innovativen Rhythmuskonzepten und Body-Percussion-Methoden seit 2010 mehr als 100’000 Menschen. Tupac Mantilla arbeitet als Musiker mit Grössen wie Bobby McFerrin, Esperanza Spalding, Savion Glavor, Ustad Zakir Hussein und Julian Lage.
CLAUDE DIALLO – Biographie
Der international etablierte Jazzpianist Claude Diallo reist um die Welt und begeistert mit seiner Musik ein breites Publikum. Mit dem Trio Claude Diallo Situation hat er viele Alben produziert, diverse Auszeichnungen erhalten und spielt an Jazz Festivals und Clubs in Europa, Amerika und Asien. Seine Liebe zum Jazz entdeckte er durch die Musik von Oscar Peterson. Nach intensiven Studien am Berklee College of Music in Boston und an der Aaron Copland School of Music in New York startete Claude Diallo seine Karriere in New York. Dort wirkte er während 11 Jahren mit den besten Musikern seines Genres. Mit dem Motto: Traveling with Music, begann er im Alter von 20 Jahren auf verschiedene Welttourneen zu gehen. Durch seine Neugierde, Bewunderung und Passion für anderen Kulturen, schuf er ein wachsendes Netzwerk, welches er pflegt.
TUPAC MANTILLA – Biographie
Tupac Mantilla (born October 21, 1978) is a percussionist from Bogotá, Colombia. He is the founder and director of the Global Percussion Network PERCUACTION and the director of the percussion group Tekeyé. He has worked with Bobby McFerrin, Esperanza Spalding, Zakir Hussain, Bill Cosby, Danilo Perez, Julian Lage, Bob Moses, and Medeski, Martin and Wood.
As a scholar, Mantilla is associated with institutions such as Stanford University through the Stanford Jazz Workshop,and the Berklee College of Music through the Berklee Global Jazz Institute (BGJI), and gives workshops and lectures and runs rhythm/percussion oriented programs worldwide, through PERCUACTION’s Global Rhythm Institute (GRI).
Mantilla has appeared at festivals, institutions and venues including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Stanford University, The New England Conservatory, Kennedy Center, Berklee College of Music, London’s Barbican, Tanglewood, The Montreal, North Sea, Perugia, Montreux, Gent, Nice, Newport Jazz Festivals among many other as well as several percussion-oriented workshops and lectures for prestigious multi-national companies and organizations around the world. He has a Master of Music Honors Degree from the New England Conservatory and was the first prize recipient of the 2002 Bogotá’s Philharmonic Orchestra’s Classical Soloist Competition, Mantilla has collaborated and performed with artists including Bobby McFerrin, Bill Cosby, Zakir Hussain, Savion Glover, Danilo Perez, Reinhard Flatischler, Kenny Werner, John Patitucci, Tisziji Muñoz, Bob Moses, Steve Smith, John Medeski, Michael Cain, Cecil McBee, Jamey Haddad, Anders Koppel, Deepak Ram, Medeski Martin & Wood, Lisa Fischer, Selene Muñoz, Ulita Knaus, Opus 4, Sofia Rei, Edmar Castañeda, Juanito Pascual, Tia Fuller, Julian Lage and the Bogotá’s Philharmonic Orchestra’s.[
Mantilla is the founder, CEO and artistic director of the Global Percussion Network PERCUACTION, with which he leads several educational and social projects and initiatives worldwide. He is the artistic director of Colombia’s experimental Percussion Group TEKEYÉ and devotes much of his time to work on his SOLO PERCUSSION project. project.
LUQUES CURTIS – Biographie
Luques Curtis was born 1983 in Hartford, CT. After having formal training on piano and percussion, he found himself wanting to play the bass. Luques studied at the Greater Hartford Academy of Performing Arts, Artist Collective, and Guakia with Dave Santoro, Volcan Orham, Nat Reeves, Paul Brown, and others. While attending high school, he was also very fortunate to study the Afro-Caribbean genre with bass greats Andy Gonzalez and Joe Santiago. With his talent and hard work he earned a full scholarship to the prestigious Berklee College Of Music in Boston. There he studied with John Lockwood and Ron Mahdi. While in Boston he was also able to work with great musicians such as Gary Burton, Ralph Peterson, Donald Harrison, Christian Scott, and Francisco Mela.
Now living in the New York area, Mr. Curtis has been performing worldwide with Eddie Palmieri, Stefon Harris, Ralph Peterson, Christian Scott, Sean Jones, Orrin Evans, Christian Sands, and others. He is the recent recipient of the 2016 Down Beat Rising Star Bassist on the Critics Poll and also received the Ralph Bunche Fellowship to complete his Masters Degree at the Mason Gross School of the Arts. He co-owns a record label called Truth Revolution Records along side his brother, Zaccai. They have five releases under “Curtis Brothers” with the most recent being “Algorithm”. Luques was also part of Brian Lynch’s Grammy winning CD “Simpatico” and his Grammy nominated “Madera Latino” as well as Christian Scott’s Grammy nominated CD “Rewind That”. He also produced Grammy nominated “Entre Colegas” by Andy Gonzalez.
